Ultimate speed and handling with the Continental Aero 111 tire!

van rysel xcr tt and triathlon bike aerodynamics by swiss side

Van Rysel XCR

The Revolutionary XCR Triathlon Bike

Swiss Side x VAN RYSEL: Redefining Aerodynamic Performance

At Swiss Side, our passion for aerodynamics drives everything we do. Collaborating with VAN RYSEL on the XCR triathlon bike was an opportunity to bring our cutting-edge Formula 1-inspired engineering to the world of cycling and triathlon.

The result is a bike that redefines what’s possible for triathletes and time trialists.

The Van Rysel XCR is the culmination of Swiss Side’s aerodynamic expertise and VAN RYSEL’s commitment to high-performance cycling. Through precision engineering and extensive testing, we’ve achieved the ultimate balance of speed, control, and rider comfort.

The Design: A Masterclass in Aerodynamics

When we partnered with VAN RYSEL, our mission was clear: build the fastest, most aerodynamic triathlon bike on the market. Over three years, our engineering teams collaborated on 14 prototypes, refining every detail. The final result is a frame crafted from 486 carbon fiber components, each one designed with purpose and precision.

Our experience in Formula 1 taught us that marginal gains make the difference between winning and losing. With this principle in mind, every line and curve of the XCR was sculpted to reduce air resistance and increase forward momentum. The result? A bike that cuts through wind like a knife.

Rider-Centered Design

This bike focuses on who is riding it. That’s why the XCR features an adjustable VAN RYSEL cockpit, offering a fully customisable fit for every athlete. Triathletes and time trialists can achieve their optimal aerodynamic position, maximising speed while maintaining comfort for long rides.

The XCR UCI model goes one step further, incorporating Deda Jet One extensions to meet UCI regulations. This allows elite riders to remain within race compliance while still benefiting from industry-leading aerodynamics.

Innovative Storage Solutions for Race Day

Triathletes face unique challenges, and the XCR addresses them all. The integrated toolbox holds essential repair tools, so athletes are prepared for any on-the-road mishaps. Swiss Side also helped design a streamlined bento box and trash box, ensuring riders can store nutrition and dispose of waste without losing aerodynamic efficiency. To top it off, the XCR’s hydration system allows for bottles to be mounted on both the cockpit and behind the saddle, providing ultimate versatility without compromising performance.

Tested by the Best

The XCR’s design wasn’t just theoretical — it was tested by elite riders. In collaboration with Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team TT specialists Bruno Armirail, Clément Berthet, and Felix Gall, we conducted wind tunnel testing to fine-tune every detail. This process ensured the XCR was not only fast on paper but also on the road.
